We've heard this question from several of you over the past week, and here's the answer:
Thursday, 2/25 will be the last practice of the season for anyone not participating in either
1) the USA State series or
2) the AAU State Tournament, March 20-21
Beginning next week, everyone continuing will practice together in the cafeteria, as we have to share the wrestling room with the high-school baseball team starting in March.
Singlets may be returned at the END of practice Thursday (7:30-8 p.m.) in the cafeteria for anyone not continuing, and singlet deposits will be returned. We will have a second singlet return night after the AAU State Tournament. If you are not concerned with receiving your check back and are happy with us tearing it up, you are also always welcome to drop a singlet by the FHC office in a bag, labeled with Coach Cross' name and your child's name. Any singlets not returned by March 31 are subject to deposit forfeiture.
In a normal year, the AAU State Tournament would be happening this weekend, but this year it is much later due to all the Covid-related schedule changes for both high-school and youth wrestling. We understand why some families might elect not to participate in these late-season events due to the impact on other sports seasons starting up.
We appreciate your patience and flexibility this year as we had fewer competitive events from which to choose and even fewer close by. Next year, knock on wood, everything should be normal again!
Good luck to all our Spartans as they wind down the season!
