Thanksgiving Week Updates

Practice Schedule for the week of Thanksgiving:
Take note of the practice schedule this week, as it is adjusted for the Thanksgiving holidays.
Monday: Minis 5:30-7
Tuesday: Junior Spartans (both rooms) 6-8:15
Wednesday: Junior Spartans (both rooms) 11:30-1:30
Friday (just added): Advanced room only 11:30-1:30

Tournament Workers Meeting 6 p.m. Tuesday
Julie Graham is holding a meeting for all parents who said they were willing to volunteer at the upcoming Spartan Wrestling Club Kickoff Tournament on Dec. 4. The meeting will be in either the room where the parent meeting was held (in the hallway across from the cafeteria) or in Coach Cross' classroom in Room 102.

Tournaments:
We will start taking registrations for tournaments this week!
 Procedure:

• Visit the tournament registration board outside the wrestling room during practice. (It may be put away before the end of practice, so please don't wait until practice is over.)
• You'll find an envelope and flier for each tournament for which we are taking registrations.
• Fill out a tournament registration form, attach payment, and slide it in to the appropriate tournament envelope by the deadline noted on the envelope. If you pay with cash, you will need exact change. Make all checks payable to Spartan Wrestling Club.
• Registrations will typically be due by the Wednesday prior to the tournament, but there are exceptions, so please review the fliers thoroughly. Note: the deadline to register through our club is earlier than the tournament's deadline. This is so we can compile all the entries and submit them together as a club.
• If you ever miss a deadline, you may follow the instructions provided on the flier to register yourself.

While we have planned to kick the season off with our own Spartan Wrestling Kickoff Tournament on Dec. 4, the GAC Wrestling Club did end up scheduling an AAU tournament for this Sunday. While we will not be asking our coaches to attend this add-on tournament, you are welcome to sign up through the club if you can provide your own coach. Parents can purchase Missouri AAU wrestling coaching cards at aauwrestling.net. Entries must be received by our club by Wednesday's practice.

Weights
​We will weigh kids at practice this week. These are the weights we will submit with tournament registrations (unless weigh-ins are required). We will recheck weights periodically during the season.
