Spartan Update
According to our coaches, our Spartans have been very impressive at both the Ozark District tournament and the Missouri Challenge this past weekend! Congrats to all, especially those who remain in the running for a Triple Crown award by winning gold medals in the Blue divisions of both tournaments. (I won't name names to avoid jinxing them. ;-)

This week in Spartan Nation:
Mini-Spartans' second practice of the week will be Wednesday 7 to 8:15 p.m. due to the last FHC home dual meet of the season.
Jr. Spartans (both rooms) practice Tuesday/Thursday 6-8:15 p.m.

Ryan Griffin Memorial at Francis Howell, Sunday, Jan. 29
The deadline for this Sunday's tournament is Thursday at 6:15 p.m. This one is nice and close!
Jr. Patriots Tournament on Super Bowl SundayIf you are worried about signing up for this tournament due to the potential for interfering with your big Super Bowl plans, don't fret! The tournament director has promised to keep things moving quickly and get everyone out by early afternoon. They have a good track record on fulfilling this promise over the past few years.

USA 6 & Under State Tournament

If your 6U wrestler (meaning a wrestler who was 6 or under on Dec. 31, 2016) is off to a good start and would like to compete in a state tournament format just for his age, this could be for him. It doesn't matter whether the wrestler is in his first year; any wrestler in the age group is welcome to compete. Minis registration with our club did not include a USA competition card, however, so if your son is interested, please let me know before signing up and we will work out getting him a card. Our main coaches will not be present, but Michael McCrady is taking Michael Jr., and he is a certified USA coach who would be happy to help coach your son, as well. The deadline is Wednesday at 10 p.m. and you must register yourself online.

USA Rookie State Tournament

Same venue as 6U tournament, but open to all other first-year 8U, 10U, 12U and 14U wrestlers. Again, let us know if you are interested because you will need a USA card number in order to register your wrestler online. The deadline is Wednesday at 10 p.m.

Have a great week! And if you have any concerns or feedback regarding your son's experience with our club this season, please let us know. We want to keep the kids happy and wrestling!
